The band was asked to play at The Roundhouse in Derby for the CAMRA Winter Ale Festival. Unfortunately the whole band couldn’t make the date (a Wednesday) so Simon and Kevin offered to play as a duo on the Saturday. They played a set of Irish Folk songs which went down well with the CAMRA crowd who were great fun. The organiser, Gareth, gave us a few beer tokens as well which we used to try a beer called “New Tricks” which was delicious. Thank goodness beer just makes Simon and Kevin witty and charming. Of course they can occasionally progress through stages where they become powerful, benevolent, prophetic and then patriotic before returning to witty and charming again. Next time we’ll have to decide who is going to be the designated drinker.
